math

Most people hate math. I do understand that it can be a pain at times, but math is a subject that everyone needs to know. No one can get by in life without doing math.. you go to a shop, you have to pay, to pay you need to know some math. There would a million such instances when you might need to know a little math. But one of them, which I agree that most people will never see, is a chemistry lab. You need to have a little control over math for all sciences. When you are adding chemicals, you need to careful and quick with your math because if you are not, the massive cauldron of chemicals will explode since you couldn't add 1 + 2 without a calculator. It can be pretty frustrating at times when the students can't really do math well. You also know that it is not their fault... the education system is failing somewhere.

Anyways... how are things with me you ask? I have been doing ok... a little work a little play. It has been a busy week and I am looking forward to a relaxing holiday. We might end up going out of the city for a walk or so, but lets see how things plan out. But besides that it is more of getting used to staying in a city for more than 3 months.

If you don't understand the following joke, then you really need to start doing math. And if you do... you have done waaayy too much math!

computers: friends or foes

I have had a really hectic time over the last two days. I had to hand in something to Alfonso, which I had been putting off for a long time and finally decided to get it all done. I managed to finish it and then lo behold, I replaced the latest version of my file with an old old version. All was lost.

Yet again I started to hate computers even though I would never be able to live without one.

Also, if you guys have facebook, add me on! Its my latest addiction and I love it.

microsoft

So the people who know me, would know that I am not too fond of windows. I do realise that it is the most important OS in the world, but I still don't like it. And along with windows, I have a slight aversion to all microsoft programs, which I think are just stolen and not made by them.

But a few days ago, I came across something which a cousin of mine, Kunal, working in Microsoft sent me. The future seems to have arrived, and microsoft is getting it here!

a small update

After months of not being in Leeds, I am going to spend a good few months without traveling anymore. Maybe look around the city a little now that the weather is looking up. Also there is a lot of work to be done so this is a good opportunity to get down and finish things at hand.

But as with most of my posts, there is some really big news! My sister is getting married!! This has been on the cards for a long long time, but now it is really happening. They are getting engaged on the 19th of this month, and looks like I will be missing that. But the marriage is in December this year, and there is no way in this world that I would miss it. It is going to be a legendary event.

Little Pauravi (aka Purbi) is growing up! (I can't really say little Purbi since she's older than me, but you know what I mean)
